Stephanie Saldivar is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, naturalist, and educator whose primary medium is photography. Her practice is rooted in a lifelong curiosity about the small details that contribute to larger ecosystems and the relationships that connect people, wildlife, and place. Through photography, long-exposure techniques, education, and conservation-focused art projects, she explores how our everyday decisions shape the environments around us and, in turn, how those environments shape the way we live, move, and understand ourselves.
As an educator, Saldivar uses art as a tool for conservation, creating experiences that encourage future stewards across the United States to observe, question, and develop a deeper relationship with the natural world. Her love of travel continually expands her understanding of these relationships, allowing her to experience how different landscapes influence the people who inhabit them and how people, in turn, shape their environments.
Whether working in a city, a wilderness preserve, or somewhere in between, Saldivar challenges the perceived boundary between humans and nature, emphasizing that we are not separate from the natural world, but interconnected within it.
